Introduction to Educational Technology and Learning Analytics

What it is about

You will gain an overview of educational technologies and Learning Analytics: from history, through evidence-based applications, to algorithmically driven, teacher-guided and peer-supported technologies as well as assessment-based solutions. By the end of the course you will be able to categorize existing technologies, assess which are relevant for your teaching practice, and form your own reasoned judgments about them.

• Assess the relevance of various digital education technologies for your own teaching practice
• Develop familiarity with the history and evidence of digital learning formats
• Understand the basics of adaptive learning systems, personalization and Learning Analytics
• Reflect on opportunities and risks of AI in education
• Analyze concrete tools in different paradigms
• Document and discuss personal reflections in writing
