Digital Sustainability Transformation of, by and for the TUM

What it is about

In this module you will examine the interplay of digitalization and sustainability (Digitainability). You will learn how digital technologies can support positive sustainability effects, which risks exist and how transformation processes — e.g. in the context of Smart City and Smart Participation — can be designed. In the end you will be able to independently acquire knowledge, plan and present projects in an interdisciplinary team, as well as implement and reflect on concrete project ideas.

What the module consists of

• Self-study phaseIntroduction to the topics through reading list, articles, podcasts and written tasks to prepare the workshop weeks
• Expert sessions / lecturesInput on core questions of Digitainability and team communication as a basis for the project work
• Workshop week (in-person project week)Teamwork on real challenges, applied project work, feedback from teaching staff and external stakeholders
• Stakeholder workshopsInitial mapping of problems with experts and final presentation with discussion of feasibility
