AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You will learn the fundamental physical principles of electrical engineering: from electrostatics and dielectrics through stationary currents to magnetism and electromagnetic induction. In the end you will be able to understand the treated interrelationships and apply and solve basic tasks of electrical engineering.

What you will be able to do

  • Understand fundamental principles of electrostatics
  • Apply knowledge about dielectrics and capacitances
  • Analyze stationary current conditions and electrical networks
  • Apply basic concepts of magnetism and electromagnetic induction
  • Perform basic calculations on energy, power, inductances and transformers

What the module consists of

  • LectureConveying the theoretical foundations (blackboard and partial presentation)
  • TutorialWorking on and discussing problems to deepen the lecture material

Teaching method

  • Lecture (Frontal teaching, blackboard)for systematic introduction of the topics
  • Problem solving in tutorialsfor deepening and applying the lecture material
  • Provision of downloadable materialsfor supplementation and repetition
