AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You learn fundamentals of controlling and regulating linear systems as well as methods for design and analysis of control loops. In the end you will be able to analyze linear control systems and control loops, design standard controllers and state-based controllers, and apply appropriate controller tuning procedures.

What you will be able to do

  • Linearization and modeling of dynamic systems
  • Analysis of the time response of linear dynamic systems
  • Assessment of the stability of LTI systems
  • Application of standard controllers and controller tuning
  • Design of state-based controllers (including LQR) and state observers
  • Use of structural extensions (feedforward, controller cascades)

What the module consists of

  • LectureInteractive lecture with step-by-step discussion of content and many examples
  • ExercisesProblems for individual calculation of the examples; Vermittlung and practice of methods

Teaching method

  • Interactive lectureContent is discussed step by step with participation of students to achieve deep understanding
  • Example problems in exercisesEnable practice and application of methods on concrete problems
