Introduction to Wind Energy

What it is about

You will learn the fundamentals of wind energy utilization: wind resource and its properties, designs and components of wind turbines as well as their aerodynamics, dynamics and control engineering. You will also receive an introduction to offshore wind, load-bearing structures, electrical systems and grid integration. In the end you will be able to explain the energy conversion from wind, apply basic aerodynamic and dynamic concepts, and evaluate solutions for transferring mechanical energy into electrical energy as well as for integrating wind farms into the power grid.
