What it is about

You learn rheological fundamentals and their application to the analysis and modeling of the deformation behavior of viscoelastic liquids and solids. In the end you will be able to determine rheological key parameters, assign appropriate rheological constitutive models, and draw initial conclusions about microstructural causes of rheological behavior.

What you will be able to do

  • Describe and apply rheological parameters (e.g. shear resistance, viscosity, thixotropy)
  • Create rheological constitutive models and assign phenomenological deformation behavior
  • Discuss links between rheology and microstructural effects (interparticle interactions, reaction kinetics, structural formation)
  • Select and practically apply rheometric measurement methods
  • Analyze measurement data and convert it into a suitable rheological constitutive model
