Concepts of C++ Programming

What it is about

You will learn the fundamental and modern concepts of the C++ programming language with a focus on runtime efficiency. By the end you will be able to apply, analyze and use concepts such as RAII, smart pointers, templates, classes/ inheritance, STL containers/iterators and build/test concepts in programming tasks.

What you will be able to do

• Efficient resource management (RAII, smart pointers, Move-/Copy-Semantics)
• Procedural programming in C++ (functions, parameter passing, lambdas, error handling)
• Object-oriented programming (classes, inheritance, polymorphism, RTTI)
• Generic programming (templates, variadic templates, CRTP, Expression Templates)
• Compile-time programming (template recursion, constexpr, type traits)
• Containers, iterators and ranges (STL containers, algorithms, views/ranges)
• Build systems and dependency management as well as continuous testing and integration
• Optional: Parallel programming (threads, atomics, async/futures) and new C++ features (Modules, Concepts)
