The module assessment is a group-based lab/project work (in accordance with §41 FPSO M.Sc. Aerospace) with four graded milestones: 1) CDR (10%), 2) FRR-Preliminary (25%), 3) Concept of Operations & FRR-Final (35%), 4) Launch, flight data analysis and data package (30%). Dates: CDR weeks 3–5, FRR-P weeks 11–12, FRR-F weeks 13–14 (before launch), Launch weeks 15–16. If a launch is not possible, an extended FRR submission substitutes milestone 4. Participation in the entire respective milestone activity is mandatory; each submission is made as a single group document. The assessment mainly evaluates the structured application of systems engineering methods. For participation in launch activities FRR-P and FRR-F must be passed; flight clearance is assessed among other factors by safety, recoverability and plausibility of functional capability.
