What it is about

In this interdisciplinary module you explore acoustics in the context of humans as a listening beings: technically-scientific foundations, ethical and societal issues surrounding noise, silence and digital sound practices. By the end you will be able to assess acoustic phenomena and their ecological, social and economic impacts as well as apply philosophically-methodical approaches to analyze acoustic questions.

What you will be able to do

• consider ecological, economic and social impacts of acoustic action
• apply and reflect on philosophical methods (e.g. justify, reconstruct, understand)
• develop inter- and transdisciplinary approaches to acoustics
• include context-dependent conceptions of sustainability in relation to acoustics
• apply simpler interdisciplinary team communication and argumentation confidently
