What it is about

The module conveys the history of ethics and links historical ethical concepts with current questions in engineering (e.g., AI, digitization, technology assessment). By the end you will be able to historically classify central ethical theories and terms, apply them to engineering problems, and develop responsible-ethical positions.

• Consideration of ecological, economic and social impacts of actions
• Knowledge of historical prerequisites of today's ethics in engineering (basic knowledge)
• Analysis of strategies and procedures as responsibility ethics (depth competence)
• Development of a well-considered responsibility-ethical position
• Assessment of moral questions based on technology and technology assessment
• Development of concrete solution proposals for ethical problems
• Transfer of historically ethical tension fields to professional contexts
