AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You will learn the manufacture, material properties and quality assurance of massively formed high-performance components for the mobility of the future. In the end you will be able to overview and assess the relevant forming processes, material and development aspects, and how requirements for components can be implemented in economical series processes from material and manufacturing perspectives.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify components that generate and transmit mechanical performance in the vehicle
  • Name requirements for components in injection technology, engine, electric motors, transmission, drive train, suspension and body
  • Systematically develop and evaluate material- and manufacturing-technical solutions for component requirements

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungProviding the fundamentals and examples; central course of the module

Teaching method

  • Presentations with active involvement of studentsExplanation of the fundamentals from materials science, product development, vehicle and production technology
  • Real components as examplesIllustration of the potentials and properties of massively formed components
  • Moodle learning materials and additional reading materialsSelf-study, deepening and continuous availability of the materials
