AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

In this module you will learn the fundamentals of Technical Dynamics and apply them to mechanically multi-physically coupled systems. You will be able to analyze simple mechanical systems, linearize, discretize, and assess the dynamic behavior of systems with couplings such as electromechanical, acoustic and thermo-elastic.

What you will be able to do

  • Apply analytical mechanics to simple systems
  • Linearize mechanical systems and analyze them with regard to stability, vibration and transfer behavior
  • Apply the basic ideas of discretization (e.g. Rayleigh-Ritz, FEM)
  • Use equations of motion of simple rotor systems and assess stability/resonance
  • Analyze the dynamics of multiphysically coupled systems (electrostatic, piezoelectric, electromagnetic, acoustic, thermal)
  • Understand principles of discretization of multiphysical systems
  • Understand selected software for solving simple multiphysical systems

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungDelivery of theoretical foundations and visualization of the content using examples, teaching models and animations
  • ÜbungDeepening through manual calculation tasks and software examples

Teaching method

  • Frontalpräsentation mit Tablet und BeamerExplanation of theory and visualization of examples
  • Lehrmodelle und AnimationenIllustration of practically relevant problems
  • HandrechenaufgabenConsolidation of mathematical and mechanical methods
  • SoftwarebeispielePractical application and solution of simple multiphysical systems
  • Begleitender Moodle-KursProvision of slides, script, exercises, sample solutions and software examples
