You learn how expansion and modernization planning of power plants as well as load-flow problems in modern energy systems are formulated and solved as mathematical optimization problems. In the end you can formulate (non-)linear and mixed-integer models and apply and assess suitable solution approaches for applications such as optimal load flow or power plant deployment planning.
