What it is about
You will learn how chemical and thermal processes are modeled and controlled. The module provides fundamentals on mass-balance models (mass, amount of substance, energy, momentum), on stationary and dynamic behavior, and on control engineering (P, I, D, PID, cascades). In the end you can mathematically describe systems, numerically solve ODEs, and design and analyze control loops with MATLAB/Simulink — taking ecological and economic impacts into account.
