What it is about

You will learn how principles of functional safety and the electrical safety standards are applied to medical devices and assemblies. The main focus is on recognizing and mastering hardware and software errors in microcontroller-/processor environments as well as the non-ideal properties of electronic components and their impact on circuit design. In the end you will be able to develop norm-compliant concepts for medical electronic assemblies and assess fault-avoidance or fault-tolerant measures.

• Identify systematic and random errors in electronic assemblies
• Analyze fault-avoidance and fault-tolerance measures
• Develop protection measures
• Know and consider the limitations and application areas of non-ideal electronic components in circuit design
