What it is about

You work on current research topics of the Neuroelectronics group and independently carry out a defined scientific project. In the end you will be able to search literature, plan and conduct experiments, as well as analyze results and present them in written and oral form.

What you will be able to do

  • Literature research on a specific topic of Neuroelectronics
  • Design of experiments to verify scientific questions
  • Conducting measurements (microscopic, electrochemical, mechanical)
  • Analysis of structural and electrochemical key figures of electrodes
  • Evaluation of performance and durability of recording/stimulation electrodes
  • Presentation and written documentation of project results

What the module consists of

  • Project lab / PraktikumYou independently conduct state-of-the-art experiments in the field of Neuroelectronics and work integrated into a research team.
  • PresentationsRegular short progress presentations to discuss the project progress.
  • Written reportFinal report documenting background, motivation, experiments and results.

Teaching method

  • ProjektlaborEnables independent work on research projects and the learning of experimental methods.
  • Tutor- and mentor-supportDiscussion and feedback by experienced supervisors for planning and improving the experiments.
  • Literature screeningIntroduction to current research literature to underpin the project.
