What it is about

You will learn how requirements, architecture, design, implementation and quality assurance are tightly interlinked in the development of large software systems. In the end you will be able to elicit and specify requirements (functional and non-functional), assess their impact on architecture and code, and analyze architectures and solution approaches regarding central quality attributes.

What you will be able to do

  • Understand central tasks and methods of Requirements Engineering
  • Know relevant quality attributes for software
  • Elicit, specify and manage requirements
  • Recognize the connection between requirements and software architecture
  • Evaluate requirements, architectures and code with regard to quality attributes
  • Analyze goal conflicts between quality attributes
  • Understand the influence of the development process on requirements and quality
  • Apply the knowledge in smaller projects

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungConveying content through lectures and presentations
  • ÜbungGroup work and work on concrete examples for deepening

Teaching method

  • Vortrag/PräsentationConveying theoretical content
  • Gruppenarbeit in ÜbungenPractical engagement and working on examples, promoting literature work
