AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You learn the fundamentals and methods for human-centered, collaborative robot systems: mechanical design, control engineering, perception and real-time motion planning for safe physical human-robot interaction. In the end you will be able to evaluate methods for safe interaction, apply robot control programs and global motion planning in dynamic environments, and practically implement collision-avoiding planning algorithms.

What you will be able to do

  • Understanding of safe physical human-robot interaction
  • Application of theoretical foundations of robot control for safe interaction
  • Development of robot programs based on modern global motion planning
  • Implementation and evaluation of collision-avoiding motion planning algorithms
  • Development of user-friendly programs for physical human-robot interaction from a concrete problem statement

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungProvision of the theoretical foundations for design, control, perception, and motion planning
  • Übungen / TutorialsDeepening conceptual understanding and application of software tools; tasks with sample solutions
  • Robothon (Projekt)Interdisciplinary team project for the practical implementation and application of lecture knowledge on real robot systems

Teaching method

  • VorträgeIntroduction and conveyance of the theoretical foundations
  • Theoretische ÜbungenDeepening, discussion and exercises for applying the concepts
  • Projekt (Robothon)Practically relevant application of lecture content in interdisciplinary teams on real robots
  • Bereitstellung von Paper und BeispiellösungenSupport for understanding and preparation for exercises and project
