What it is about

The module investigates how children and adolescents grow up in an increasingly digital world and how technologies shape their well-being, participation, and everyday experiences. You will learn key terms, theories and research methods, analyze opportunities and risks (including AI effects) and practically implement your own project-based questions.

Assess the impacts of AI on children and adolescents

Prepare results creatively and understandably for different target groups
Plan and moderate 90-minute seminar sequences

What the module consists of

Vorlesung (wöchentlich, 2 SWS)Introduction to concepts and theories; interactive elements linking theory and practice
Seminar (wöchentlich, 2 SWS)Deepening, student inputs and group discussions; students lead a session
Workshops (two blocks of two days, total 4 days, 2 SWS)Intensive project work: exploration, prototyping, feedback and iterative finalization

The assessment consists of a project work: seminar presentation and moderation (25%), a written paper (~2,000 words) as a research-informed document or longer public-facing piece, (65%), and a short video (~60 seconds) conveying the core idea of the project (10%). Weights are indicated; duration and tools follow the course-specific submission rules.
