What it is about

In this module you learn medical technology diagnostic and therapeutic principles along selected organ systems (e.g. respiratory system, nervous system, urogenital system, digestive system, sensory system/ear). You will gain fundamentals in anatomy, physiology and pathology of these systems and you will be able to assess medical-technical solutions and apply them in your own development projects.

What you will be able to do

• Basic knowledge in anatomy, physiology and pathology of the treated organ systems
• Understanding the functioning principles of medical-technical diagnostic and therapy systems
• Knowledge of the use of medical-technical solutions in clinical environments
• Ability to apply the knowledge to independent medical-technical developments
• Assessment of regulatory and legal prerequisites for medical devices

What the module consists of

• LectureConveying the theoretical foundations (anatomy, physiology, pathology, functional principles) and provision of materials
• ExerciseDeepening and application of knowledge, e.g. through operating room observations and discussions with clinical experts
