What it is about

You will learn the fundamentals of factory planning: from objectives and site selection through structure and layout planning to production, assembly and logistics planning as well as lean production principles and digital tools. In the end you will be able to systematically analyze factory planning tasks, design concepts for layout, production and logistics, and perform economic feasibility assessments for factory projects.

What you will be able to do

• reproduce the historical development of factory planning
• place the planning process in the context of corporate planning
• recognize requirements for new or renovated factories and name objectives
• conduct site planning and prepare the site decision
• create factory layout
• design logistics, production and assembly systems with learned methods
• reproduce and apply methods of lean production
• perform economic feasibility assessments of production concepts
