In this module you will learn the fundamentals and methods for the design and sizing of aerospace structures. You will gain insight into structural concepts, materials, load assumptions, stability and fatigue issues, as well as the application of the finite element method and basics of multidisciplinary optimization. In the end you will be able to perform preliminary design and sizing of components and carry out calculations on stability, time-to-failure and load assumptions.
From an earlier semester, for reference only.
