What it is about

You receive a practical insight into the manufacture, testing and application of cardiovascular implants and learn the basics of the human cardiovascular system. In the end you will be able to carry out cell culture and blood tests, assess biological reactions to implants and understand clinical processes in cardiovascular interventions.

What you will be able to do

• Perform cell expansion and subcultures
• Conduct and evaluate cell-based assays
• Understand clinical processes when using medical devices
• Assess biological reaction to implants (cytocompatibility, thrombogenicity)
• Estimate the logistical effort involved in manufacturing cardiovascular implants
• Expand understanding of the cardiovascular system and current/experimental treatment approaches
• Discuss and present topics on the cardiovascular system and medical technology
