What it is about
You receive an application-oriented introduction to the workflow of a finite element simulation (FEM) using the structural design of an axial compressor as an example. You model a 3D component, run a simplified flight cycle, analyze forces, stresses and temperatures, and examine the effects of rotational speed and temperature on natural frequencies (Campbell diagram). In the end you can independently handle simple structural analysis tasks with ABAQUS/CAE and interpret the results.
