You learn the aerodynamic design and analysis of compressors and turbines (axial, radial, diagonal configurations). The module covers from 1D fundamentals to 3D aerodynamic design, loss mechanisms, stage interaction and numerical methods (including an introduction to CFD). In the end you will be able to calculate common turbomachinery, assess operating behavior and stability limits, and evaluate calculation results and develop improvement proposals.
