What it is about

In this module you will learn about safety aspects and certification requirements in aviation. You will understand safety terms, aeronautical regulatory embedding, and certification processes, and you will be able to apply and assess safety and hazard analyses as well as their impacts on overall design and flight performance.

• Understand safety as a central design and development principle
• Context achievable safety level technically and legally
• Apply design principles for strength, reliability and fault tolerance
• Evaluate the admissibility of existing concepts with regard to airworthiness
• Apply methods of safety and hazard analysis at system levels
• Identify relationships between safety aspects and flight performance
• Knowledge of current developments in the field of certification
