Human Factors of Automated & Cooperative Driving

What it is about

You deal with automated and cooperative driving from the perspective of Human Factors. You will learn technical fundamentals, human–machine interaction and central ergonomic questions and will be able to analyze interaction concepts and evaluate HMI regarding effectiveness and potential problems.

What you will be able to do

• Understand fundamental technology and Human–Machine–Interaction concepts
• Recognize essential Human‑Factors problems of automated and cooperative driving
• Analyze interaction and interface techniques
• Assess HMI and human–/machine capabilities in terms of effectiveness and risks
• Be able to present professionally and engage in controversial discussion
• Develop and moderate a workshop concept for a seminar session

• Seminar (Presentations & Workshops)Teams present a topic and moderate subsequent workshops; discussion with experts and guests
• Soft‑Skill Seminar (2 days)Training for presentation and moderation skills at the beginning of the semester
• Literature research and reportingIndependent research, presentation of the research state and writing an essay
