What it is about

You will learn fundamentals, concepts and current research on interdisciplinarity and reflect on your own disciplinary socialization. You will also test methodological approaches of different disciplines and practice designing and moderating interdisciplinary collaboration in a practical way.

• critically reflect on your own disciplinary socialization
• familiarize yourself with approaches of selected other disciplines
• reproduce concepts of interdisciplinarity and transfer them to application cases
• apply methods to promote interdisciplinary competencies
• recognize problems and challenges of interdisciplinary collaboration and apply solution strategies

What the module consists of

• SeminarConveying theory, self-reflection and methods; students introduce topics with impulse presentations and work in groups
• WorkshopCritical reflection on one's own discipline and practical exercises to promote interdisciplinary competencies
• Panel discussionInterdisciplinary discussions with students, instructors and possibly external guests to illustrate the added value of interdisciplinary approaches
