What it is about

You will gain an overview of patent protection and the legal as well as actual protection of trade secrets. At the end you will be able to classify patents and trade secrets, capture their legal framework, and assess concrete factual situations from patent and trade secret protection perspectives.

What the module consists of

• Lecture "Patentschutz"Conveying the fundamentals of patent law (subject matter, prerequisites, procedures, effects, transfer, licensing, legal enforcement, termination).
• Lecture "Geheimnisschutz"Conveying the legal and factual protection of corporate secrets, risk aspects, and enforcement.
