AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You will learn the central components of robotics and automation in modern agriculture, including sensing, control, and communication. In the end you will be able to evaluate technologies, compare their applications, and provide well-founded recommendations for concrete use cases (milking, irrigation & orchard management, forestry).

What you will be able to do

  • Describe the basic principles of agricultural robotics
  • Understand central image and sensor technologies in Agri-robotics
  • Compare cameras, 2D-LiDAR and radar
  • Understand control/automation elements
  • Apply the knowledge to make recommendations for three case studies (Robotic milking, irrigation & orchard management, forestry control)
  • Assess the suitability of different technologies for concrete situations

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungDelivery of theoretical content and discussion of learning objectives
  • ExkursionDemonstration of practical applications at the manufacturer on site
  • Gastvortrag / FallstudienPresentation and application of technology examples from industry

Teaching method

  • FrontalvorlesungDirect delivery of theoretical foundations and interactive discussions
  • ExkursionPractical demonstration of content and experiences on site
  • GastvortragInsight into industrial applications and case studies
