Master's Thesis

What it is about

You work independently on a scientific question from Operations Research, either theoretically-mathematically or practically relevant. You develop the necessary background knowledge, model the problem with mathematical methods and develop solution approaches — possibly including implementation or comparison of procedures. In the end you can adequately present the chosen problem, derive a solution and assess its significance as well as its limits.

What you will be able to do

• Development and application of relevant mathematical background
• Recognition and exploitation of mathematical structures for problem solving
• Development and evaluation of solution approaches
• Scientific presentation of the approach and results
