Neuroprosthetics

What it is about

You will obtain the theoretical foundations of neuroprosthetics and implement them numerically in a accompanying computer exercise. The focus is on electrical stimulation of neurons using the example of cochlear implants; the goal is to develop and simulate a virtual middle ear implant model including the response of the auditory nerve.

The performance assessments consist of a non-graded study achievement (exercise performance: five programming tasks, each with a written elaboration of about 6–8 pages) and a graded examination: a written exam (60 minutes). No aids are permitted in the exam. The exercise performance must be passed but is not included in the grade.
