AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You deal with numerical methods for dynamic systems: propagation and detection of bifurcations, computation and analysis of invariant sets (e.g. periodic orbits, invariant manifolds, attractors) as well as computational ergodic concepts such as Lyapunov exponents and invariant measures. In the end you will be able to apply these methods, implement them and evaluate their properties.

What you will be able to do

  • Problem analysis and model formulation for numerical questions of dynamic systems
  • Design, implementation and analysis of suitable algorithms
  • Application and verification of numerical methods on concrete examples

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungTheoretical foundations and examples are conveyed
  • ÜbungDiscussion of problems to deepen and apply the lecture content; optional additional exercise groups for supervised team work

Teaching method

  • VorlesungenPresentation of theoretical principles and examples
  • ÜbungssitzungenDiscussion and deepening of problems for the application of the lecture material; optional supervised exercises for independent work
