What it is about

You will learn fundamental methods of geometric and topological data analysis. This includes constructions such as Voronoi and Delaunay diagrams, Alpha Shapes, as well as concepts from topology such as simplicial complexes and homology and their application to filtrations and persistent homology to investigate the topological properties of point sets.

What you will be able to do

• Construct and apply Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay triangulations
• Understand and use Alpha Shapes and weighted tessellations
• Explain basic concepts of topology, simplicial complexes and homology
• Generate filtrations from point sets and compute persistent homology
• Derive methods, explain properties and apply to examples
