What it is about

You will learn fundamental concepts of commutative algebra (rings, ideals, prime ideals, modules) as well as important tools such as localization, embeddings, and tensor products. You will also gain insight into affine algebraic varieties and questions on finiteness conditions and dimension theory. In the end you will be able to apply the learned theorems to rings, in particular finitely generated algebras over a field, and transfer the results to the corresponding affine varieties.
