Global Health (BSc.)

What it is about

You will receive an introduction to Global Health with a focus on developments and processes in Global South countries. You will learn basic concepts, measurement methods and trends in disease burden and evaluate strategies for prevention and treatment. In addition, you will consider health and development from a gender-specific perspective and analyze inequality measures as well as topics such as reproductive health and gender-based violence.

• Reflect trends in infectious and non-communicable diseases
• Critically assess prevention and treatment strategies
• Explain the connections between poverty and health
• Assess the impact of health interventions and policies
• Summarize and evaluate results of influential empirical studies
