What it is about

You will learn modern techniques for the design and implementation of knowledge-based systems and their application to real-world problems, in particular on the World Wide Web and for the control of intelligent software systems. In the end you will be able to design central components of such systems and select and apply suitable methods.

What you will be able to do

• Knowledge of Description Logics and taxonomic representation
• Understanding of principles of the Semantic Web and associated inference mechanisms
• Ability to integrate distributed data sources on the WWW (Wrappers, Planning, GAV/LAV)
• Foundations of Semantic Web Services and planning of complex services
• Insight into data-driven (grounded) knowledge representation and data mining
• Hands-on experience in the design and implementation of central system components
