What it is about
You engage with current topics in solid-state quantum sciences and technologies. The focus is on spin systems, coupled nano-mechanical elements, and their connection to superconducting quantum circuits. In the end you will be able to explain experimental realizations and coupling mechanisms of quantum hybrid systems and articulate approaches to generate non-classical states in solid-state excitations.
What you will be able to do
- Apply scientific literature research
- Prepare a topic from primary literature and present it in a Talk
- Classify and reproduce the functionality of different quantum hybrid systems
- Reproduce protocols for generating non-classical states in hybrid systems
What the module consists of
- SeminarvortragEach student independently prepares a ca. 45-minute talk on a current scientific topic
- DiskussionActive participation in discussions of all talks; participation in essentially all scheduled sessions is expected
Teaching method
- Literatursuche und -studiumFoundation for understanding the chosen topic and preparing the talk
- Vortragserstellung und PräsentationTrains the preparation of scientific content and its presentation in a talk
- Diskussion mit Dozent/in und TeilnehmendenDeepens understanding and promotes critical assessment of the presented works
