What it is about

You conduct advanced experiments from various areas of experimental physics that build on current research topics of the institutes of the Physics department. In the end you will be able to independently prepare for a scientific experiment, operate complex experimental setups, document measurement results, analyze them, and write a scientific report.

What you will be able to do

• Independent preparation for a scientific experiment
• Operation and execution of complex experimental setups
• Documentation of all relevant experimental data
• Analysis of the data and writing of a scientific report in the form and quality of a publication

What the module consists of

• PraktikumConducting several advanced experiments; credits are awarded per experiment (some experiments 2 credits)
• Besprechung/BetreuungIntroductory meeting with the experiment supervisor for preparation and as a contact for questions
• Schriftliche AusarbeitungWriting a scientific report for each experiment
• Mündliche AbschlussdiskussionFinal discussion to evaluate and discuss the results
• ProtokollführungDocumentation of the data collected during the experiment
