Politische Theorie - Grundlagen

What it is about

You will learn central approaches of political theory — historically as well as contemporarily — and acquire the ability to read, reconstruct and apply political-theoretical concepts, methods and arguments to current political questions. In the end you will be able to compare different traditions, analyze texts in a focused manner and establish theory-supported connections to political controversies.

The module examination is a written scientific essay (1,500–2,000 words) prepared under supervision in person within a period of three hours. The task will be announced on the day of the exam; no aids are allowed. The evaluation of the essay accounts for 100% of the module grade. Additionally, a grade bonus of 0.3 points can be earned through a passed practical component (at least 10 submitted practicum units); this bonus cannot compensate for a failed exam or lead to passing if the essay is rated worse than 4.0.
