Grundlegende Einführung in konventionelle MRT und Analysetechniken für Neuro-Anwendungen

What it is about

The module conveys the physical fundamentals of conventional magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) and typical analysis techniques for neuroanatomical and neuroscientific applications. You will learn how MR signals arise, which image contrasts are formed, how common pulse sequences and artifacts work, and how BOLD-based functional MRT is built and analyzed. At the end you will be able to assess MR examinations, explain typical image contrasts and artifacts, and apply simple fMRI analysis procedures.

• Explain the most important image contrasts and their genesis
• Apply common clinical MR imaging procedures
• Recognize common imaging artifacts and know measures to avoid them
• Understand and explain the principles of BOLD-based functional MRT
• Understand and apply basic fMRI experiments, processing and analysis techniques
