What it is about

You will learn about different systems and rules surrounding land ownership: types of land and property rights, legal pluralism and the concept of the bundle of rights, as well as methods for recognizing, documenting and registering land rights. In the end you will be able to analyze land rights systems, apply the continuum of land rights and select and use appropriate instruments to improve land tenure security.

• Discuss the importance of policy and law in protecting legitimate land rights
