What it is about

You will learn the fundamentals and current issues of land use, land policy, and land administration. Topics include, among others, land rights and tenure security, land registry and cadastre systems, rural development as well as regional and urban development. In the end you can analyze international and local frameworks of land management and critically evaluate practical cases.

What you will be able to do

Discuss international frameworks for the protection of land and natural resources
Evaluate the global and local conditions for land management and land ownership
Explain the principles of land registry and cadastre systems
Analyze implementation aspects of land management
Critically discuss development theories and policies as well as their advantages and disadvantages
Know concepts of urban and rural development (e.g., village renewal, land consolidation)
