What it is about

In this module you will learn how transportation systems impact the environment — locally through air pollutants and noise, as well as globally through energy consumption and climate change. You will gain knowledge about the origin, effects and measurement of transport-related emissions as well as emission standards and the fundamentals of sustainable transport systems.

• Identify environmentally relevant effects of traffic
• Identify the main emissions of the traffic, their origin and effects
• Recognize common emissions standards for vehicles as well as their measurement
• Identify the relationship between sound and noise as well as health effects
• Identify causes and effects of global climate change
