Project Work (MSc)

What it is about

You work in a practice- or research phase with an external industry partner on political science issues, often at the interface to engineering and natural sciences (e.g. digital information and communication technologies or energy and environmental technologies). In the end you can apply study-related knowledge and methods in a practice-oriented way and conduct projects independently as well as analyse and communicate across disciplines.

What you will be able to do

• independent and self-directed project execution
• application of fundamental concepts in political science (including related areas such as law and economics)
• analysis and evaluation of specific theories and methods of political science
• linking engineering/natural sciences with political science knowledge
• identification and application of interdisciplinary working methods
• communication of scientific conclusions to laypersons and to colleagues
• scientific presentation of results to the supervisor
• personality development, improvement of communication and conflict management skills

What the module consists of

• Praxisprojekt/PraxisphaseProcessing of practically relevant issues at the practice partner; duration 3.5 months (full-time) or 5 months (part-time)
• wissenschaftliche BetreuungSupport and guidance by a supervising lecturer from HfP/TUM SSoT or other TUM faculties
• Mentoring durch PraxispartnerContact person at the practice partner provides advisory support
• StudienfachberatungSupport in all project stages
