Cybersecurity in Social Science Research

What it is about

You engage interdisciplinary with security issues in the digital space from a social science perspective. The seminar covers digital forms of authoritarianism, economic incentives for (missing) cybersecurity, and the human factor. In the end you will be able to identify research gaps and develop your own research project including research question, hypotheses and an appropriate research design.

What you will be able to do

• Understand concepts and terms of cybersecurity at personal and national levels
• Critically evaluate theories of digital authoritarianism, private sector and behavioral aspects
• Summarize, interpret and assess findings of empirical studies
• Develop your own research project at the intersection of cybersecurity and social sciences
