Master's Thesis (STS)

What it is about

You will produce an autonomous scientific master thesis in the context of Science and Technology Studies. In the end you will be able to plan, conduct, evaluate, and present the results of a research project in scientific written and oral form on your own.

What you will be able to do

• Choose a research topic
• Formulate a research question / Hypothesize
• Research and synthesize relevant literature
• Identify and collect suitable data
• Apply appropriate statistical or methodological procedures
• Prepare results scientifically and present them in a style-appropriate manner
• Interpret results in the context of the research question
• Orally present the project and answer questions confidently
• Write scientifically correctly and cite properly

What the module consists of

• Individuelle MasterarbeitCentral written final paper (20,000–30,000 words)
• Masterkolloquium / PräsentationenThree interim presentations on progress; serve feedback and not for grading

Teaching method

• Einzelarbeit mit BetreuungWork on the project in individual supervision for guidance on topic, methods, data and structure
