What it is about

You will learn nondestructive testing methods and how to apply them: theory, practical experiments and evaluation. In the end you will be able to explain the physical fundamentals and material requirements of various testing methods, analyze test tasks and select appropriate methods as well as evaluate measurement results.

• Define important terms and tasks of nondestructive testing
• Understand the physical fundamentals of elastic and electromagnetic testing methods
• Describe the operation of relevant testing equipment
• Name relevant material properties for each method
• Apply testing methods to different materials and geometries
• Analyze complex testing situations and select a suitable method
• Evaluate experimental results and assess possibilities/limits
