AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You will gain a practice-oriented overview of the design, manufacturing and qualification of liquid rocket engines from an industrial perspective. Application-oriented scenarios show the life cycles of all relevant components from requirements derivation to operation and typical damage mechanisms. In the end you will be able to derive rocket engine requirements and preliminarily dimension the main components as well as assess the influences of material and manufacturing choices.

What you will be able to do

  • Determine the order of magnitude of various liquid rocket engine cycles
  • Understand the main phenomena in components of liquid rocket engines
  • Recognize essential trade-offs in the design of engine components
  • Carry out a preliminary design of the main engine components

What the module consists of
