What it is about

In the internship you create a complete CAD model of a Beechcraft Baron with CATIA V5. In the end you will be able to use the most important software modules confidently, design parts and assemblies parametrically, model free-form surfaces, and derive norm-compliant engineering drawings.

What you will be able to do

  • Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Assembly Design and Drafting confidently and efficiently apply
  • 2D sketches and parametrized 3D individual parts design
  • model and analyze free-form surfaces
  • assemble assemblies in a structured manner and use cross-part references
  • create norm-compliant engineering drawings
  • select suitable modeling strategies for stable, change-friendly models
  • analyze existing CAD models and understand design logic
  • perform simple simulation and analysis tasks (mass, interference analyses, basic kinematics)
  • independently implement simple design and development tasks
  • create CAD models practically and systematically according to industrial standards

What the module consists of

  • PraktikumSupervised computer exercise in which you create parts, assemblies and drawings based on a script

Teaching method

  • Kurzvorträge/EinführungspräsentationenReview of relevant content and structured introduction of new topics at the beginning of each session
  • Selbstständige Übung am Rechner mit SkriptHands-on application of the software and practice of modeling strategies
  • BetreuungSupervision and feedback by the instructors during the exercise sessions
